In order to perform a User Batch Upload or an Activity Data Upload, the document must be a tab-delimited text file. Here is how to get your spreadsheets from different programs exported to tab-delimited text files.
From Excel on PC:
- Click "File" > "Save As..." > "Tab-delimited Text (.txt)"
- Name the document, and click "Save."
- Check the text file to delete any space after the very last "END." Delete NO other spaces, and make no other changes to the document. Save the file.
- Upload the document on the User Batch Upload page (Administrator Menu > Users > "User Batch Upload").
From Excel on Mac:
- Click "File" > "Save As..."
- From the "File Type" drop-down, select "Windows Formatted Text (.txt)"
- Name it and click "Save."
- Check the text file to delete any space after the very last "END." Delete NO other spaces, and make no other changes to the document. Save the file.
- Upload the document on the User Batch Upload page (Administrator Menu > Users > "User Batch Upload").
From Google Sheets on PC:
- Click "File" > "Download As..." > "Tab-separated values (.tsv)"
- Go to where the document was saved. Change the name of the document. Delete the [.tsv] extension and change it to [.txt]. When warned by pop-up that the file might become unusable, click "Yes."
- Upload the document on the User Batch Upload page (Administrator Menu > Users > "User Batch Upload").
From Google Sheets on Mac:
- Click "File" > "Download As..." > "Tab-separated values (.tsv)"
- From the Save window, in the name of the document, change the [.tsv] file extension to [.txt], and click "Save."
- When prompted by pop-up whether to use .tsv or .txt, select ".txt".
- Upload the document on the User Batch Upload page (Administrator Menu > Users > "User Batch Upload").
