Upload Images into LMS Quiz/Survey Creator
In the LMS, administrators can create Quizzes and Survey’s. These quizzes and surveys can be added to courses as modules. Within the Quiz or Survey the administrator can add images to the questions. The image can be a reference photo for the questions, the image can also have letters, numbers or arrows that the users can use to answer the question.
There are two ways to upload an image to the quiz/survey creator.
- If a photo is accessible to the public (for example: on Google), you can right click on the image and paste it in text box area of question.
- If the client owns the image, you will need to store it somewhere like AWS or Dropbox and make the image public. Once the image is public, you can right click on it and paste it into the quiz question area.
How can I add images to Quiz/Survey Creator?
A. If the photo is accessible to the public (for example: on Google), you can right click on the image and paste it in the text box area of the question.
- Click on the Admin Toolbar towards the top left of the screen.
- Select Learning Assets from the menu. It is the 4th icon.
- Select Quizzes & Surveys under Courses of the Learning Assets title.
- Click on “New Quiz” or “New Survey” option to build your new quiz or survey.
- Fill out the required fields of the settings page for the quiz/survey.
- Click on the “Questions” tab to start creating quiz/survey questions.
- Fill out the required fields to create the quiz or survey question that will have the image attached to it.
- Add the desired image in the “Text” box.
- If the desired image is publicly available on the internet, find the image there. Such as this 3d printer image found searching the internet. Right Click on the image and select copy image to place in text box on quiz/survey.
- Click in the text box on quiz/survey. On your keyboard select Ctrl + V to paste in the image. Your text box should look like the below.
- Continue this process on as many quiz/survey questions as images are needed to build out the full quiz/survey learning asset.
B. If the client owns the image, you will need to store it somewhere like AWS or Dropbox and make the image public. Once the image is public, you can right click on it and paste it into the quiz question area.
- Click on Admin Menu
- Select Learning Assets
- Select Quizzes & Surveys
- Click on “New Quiz” or “New Survey”.
- Fill out the required fields of the settings page for the quiz/survey.
- Click on the “Questions” tab to start creating quiz/survey questions.
- Fill out the required fields to create the quiz or survey question that will have the image attached to it.
- If this image is already owned by the company, make sure it is stored in a place like AWS or Dropbox and made public for sharing purposes.
- Go to www.dropbox.com. Sign In/Create an account if you haven’t already made an account.
- You will come into your dashboard. From here you can upload images, and copy images to add to the quiz. Your screen will look like this.
- If you need to upload the file you will select the blue “upload” button to bring the image into Dropbox.
- Click on the image that you desire to upload into the LMS on a question in the quiz/survey.
- Dropbox will open the image up for you to right click on image and select copy image.
- Add the desired image in the “Text” box.
- Click Ctrl + v to insert the image.
C. Error Messages you may receive in this process of uploading images.
- Press ctrl + v to paste. Your browser doesn’t support pasting with the toolbar button or context menu option. You are getting this error because you tried to use right click on your mouse to paste instead of ctrl + v.
- File successfully uploaded.
X Incorrect server response X.
These error messages mean that you do not have permission to upload the files. These files may be copyrighted or blocked. If they are images that are downloadable then you will need to save them into Dropbox to upload successfully.
